Had enough Guided By Voices/Robert Pollard records yet? Well here's another. Its the first post GBV Pollard single freshly signed to Must Destroy. The lead track must be one of the shortest singles of all time clocking in at 1:08. Its a chirpy and catchy with lots of Cars like early 80's keyboards. There's two other tracks (one on the 7") that kind of drift around in an acoustic nothing better to do kind of way. The forthcoming album is like that too  - moments of sheer genius rubbing shoulders with ill disciplined wandering. The Pollard quality control radar still needs a bit of work. Ltd to 500 copies per format....

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
